In Moscow, the first game of the KVN Top League round of 16 was held, where the Baikal team from Irkutsk Region and Buryatia performed well in the first contests and reached the quarterfinals. Although they lost in the musical home task, they had already secured the main result, and team captain Yuri Yashnikov spoke about new requirements and preparation features. Irkutsk residents can watch the team perform tonight on Channel One.

The day before, the first game of the 1/8 finals of the KVN Major League took place in Moscow. Five teams faced off against each other: Smolensk’s "Triod i Diode", "Botanical Garden" from Khabarovsk, Moscow State University of Management, the Krasnodar Krai team, and the "Baikal" team.
The KVN players from Irkutsk Oblast and the Republic of Buryatia performed well in the first two contests - the business card and the warm-up. The latter, by the way, is the most difficult challenge for all participants, because here you need to be able to make a joke and respond well in a short time. But in the home musical assignment, the "Baikal" team fell a little short and took third place, letting Smolensk and Krasnodar move ahead. However, our comedians achieved the main thing - they advanced to the quarterfinals. Team captain Yuri Yashnikov told our program by phone about his emotions and impressions: "Preparing for this game is, on the one hand, more difficult than preparing for the games of last season. On the other hand, more interesting. This is connected with the innovations in the club, such as the game theme, the theme of each contest, and increased requirements for literary humor. It is not for us to judge, but for the viewers. When they watch the broadcast, they will say how well we handled it."
By the way, all residents of Irkutsk will be able to see Baikal’s performance today at 10:30 p.m. on Channel One. And the KVN players themselves will also return to Irkutsk on Friday and begin preparing for the quarterfinals - the games are scheduled for mid-April.
