In Irkutsk, they began testing an interactive smart bus stop developed by a Russian company and assembled in China. The new stop on Krasnogvardeyskaya Street will be tested in real time, how the solar panels work and whether the structure withstands heat and cold. If successful, such stops may appear in other parts of the city, near the airport, station, and other suitable places.
The project for the interactive bus stop was developed by a Russian company, and the assembly was carried out in China — at a bus stop manufacturing plant. The innovative stop on Krasnogvardeyskaya Street will also be tested in real time — whether the solar panels cope, whether the structure withstands heat and cold.Another “smart” stop will soon appear on Chkalova Street opposite the Marriott hotel. If the new product takes root in Irkutsk, similar complexes will be installed at the airport, railway station, and other places. “We will see how these bus stops perform, how they will work. If it is confirmed that this is an interesting and necessary solution, then we will continue installing them in those places where this corresponds to the perception of city residents,” noted Alexey Almukhamedov, “installing them throughout the city, for example, in the historic center, is impractical.”
