In Irkutsk, posters with photos and contact details of district police officers began being placed on building facades to make communication between residents and law enforcement easier and more convenient. The boards list the service area, reception time and place, and by autumn more than 30 such information boards are planned in different parts of the city. The initiative has already been tested in Angarsk and is funded under the Safe City program.
In Irkutsk, posters with photographs and contact phone numbers of district police officers serving one or another neighborhood have appeared on the facades of apartment buildings. The main goal of the innovation is to improve interaction between internal affairs agencies and the public.Such an information campaign, which has existed in Angarsk since last autumn, has proven itself well among the residents of the petrochemical city. Now Irkutsk police have decided to adopt it. So far, five billboards have been made and placed on the walls of residential apartment buildings in the Pravoberezhny District of the regional center — a kind of business card for district police officers. And this is only the beginning of Irkutsk residents' acquaintance with their “Aniskins” - it is expected that by this autumn more than 30 such information stands will appear in various administrative districts of the city.
In addition to the photograph of the district police officer and his contact phone number, the posters contain information about the officer's area of responsibility, as well as the place and time for receiving citizens. The campaign organizers tried to place the banners in the most visible spots, coordinating them with the city administration. The production of the billboards is financed from the funds of the city program “Safe City”.
