Baikal Energy confidently beat Krasnoturyinsk Mayak on home ice in the national bandy championship, 9 to 1. Former Mayak players Pavel Dubovik and Andrey Gerasimov stood out, and debuting goalkeeper Denis Rysev saved the team several times.
On their home field, Yevgeny Yerakhtin’s team defeated Krasnoturyinsk’s Mayak in another Russian bandy championship match.Until the middle of the first half, the game could be called relatively calm — the opponents were sizing each other up. But from the twentieth minute, the Baikal-Energiya players launched a determined attack, while Mayak chose to throw its main forces into defense. However, already in the 23rd minute, white-and-blue forward Yevgeny Yakovlev opened the scoring at 1:0.
Less than a minute passed before this lead was doubled by former Mayak player Andrey Gerasimov. Another former “crimson” player, Pavel Dubovik, also stood out in this match. The ex-Mayak hockey player mercilessly struck his former team’s goal three times. The hockey player says that such successful play now is the result of his victory at the 18th International Tournament for the Prizes of the Government of Russia, in which Pavel took part the day before.
Pavel Dubovik, midfielder for HC Baikal-Energiya: “I watched good, strong players in the game. I gained experience. It was a very interesting tournament, it was useful for my experience. I became more confident and more decisive”
But there was no way the white-and-blues could win “to nil” no matter how much they wanted to. One of Mayak’s best players, Mikhail Karasikov, “broke the ice” by scoring a goal against Baikal-Energiya. New goalkeeper Denis Rysev, playing his first match for Baikal-Energiya, saved the Irkutsk side from several more goals. A product of Krasnoyarsk’s Yenisey, he spent the last year playing for Ust-Ilimsk’s Lesokhimik. In this match, Denis repeatedly proved that white-and-blue coach Yevgeny Yerakhtin had not entrusted him with a place in Baikal-Energiya’s starting lineup in vain.
Yevgeny Yerakhtin, head coach of HC Baikal-Energiya: “I don’t want to sing Rysev’s praises in advance; in principle, he played and came to the rescue at certain moments. Overall, I think it was quite worthy. I think that for every match, the goalkeeper who feels better and performs better in training will play”
Before the end of the match, Yevgeny Yakovlev and Yevgeny Tkachu increased the lead. The scoreboard lit up with the cherished 9:1. Another confident victory for Baikal-Energiya
Ahead, the white-and-blues have three matches in the Urals, where their first opponent will be Mayak, only this time they will have to play on Krasnoturyinsk’s field.
