In Irkutsk, in Kirov Square, the One Day Sculpture Festival Art opened for the first time, where architectural studios, advertising agencies and students presented decorative sculptures and street installations. The organizers hope to make this annual and get new unconventional solutions for the urban environment. The works can be seen until Sunday, and the next sculpture display is scheduled for August 20.
The day before, on July 20, the one-day Sculpture Festival “Art” opened in Kirov Square. An event of this format is being held in our city for the first time. But the organizer – the Committee for Urban Planning Policy of the Irkutsk City Administration – plans to make it an annual event. The festival participants – architectural studios, advertising agencies, students of Irkutsk universities – displayed decorative sculptures and street installations in the square, where they will remain through Sunday inclusive.All festival participants were greeted by Acting Head of the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Irkutsk City Administration Inna Kondratyeva and Irkutsk City Duma deputy Sergei Yudin. “With your help, we hope to obtain new, unconventional solutions for designing the urban environment,” Inna Kondratyeva noted. Sergei Yudin emphasized that the festival is the clearest example that there are many creative young people in our city.
The next sculpture exhibition will take place on August 20.
