Tomorrow in Irkutsk the citys first mass bike ride in the form of a bike tour, Irkutsk Bike Ride 2012, will take place. Participants can ride through night streets, hear a radio tour from historians, and see the city with hundreds of other residents. All are invited, meeting August 11 at 9 pm at the Moscow Gates on the Lower Embankment.
Tomorrow, August 11, the first mass bike ride in Irkutsk’s history will take place in a unique format: a bike tour through the city streets.“Irkutsk BIKE Ride-2012” is the first cycling initiative in which sport and fresh air meet the architecture and history of the native city.
Each participant in the bike ride will have the opportunity to ride through the deserted streets of night-time Irkutsk, listen to a unique radio tour led by renowned historians, and enjoy the beauty of the beloved city in the company of hundreds of other Irkutsk residents.
The organizers of the ride — the natural drinking water “Zhemchuzhina Baykala Sport” and the administration of the city of Irkutsk — report that absolutely anyone can take part in the bike tour, regardless of age or riding level.
The meeting place and time for participants are August 11 at 21:00 near the “Moscow Gates” on Nizhnyaya Naberezhnaya St. To participate, you need to register and read the terms on the website angara.net
