The Irkutsk regional government gave gymnast Daria Dmitrieva and her coach Olga Buyanova two room apartments in Irkutsk for their successful Olympic performance. More than 4.5 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget. The athlete said she felt a special responsibility to her hometown and region. The report also says that for two years the Angara region supported its Olympians with scholarships and equipment funding.

For their successful performance at the Olympic Games, Darya Dmitrieva and Olga Buyanova were each given a two-room apartment in Irkutsk by the Government of the Irkutsk Region as a reward.
For these purposes, a subsidy of more than 4.5 million rubles was allocated from the budget of the Irkutsk Region. This was reported by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Angara Region, Valentina Voblikova. Today at Irkutsk Airport, the athlete and her coach were met by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Irkutsk Region Valentina Voblikova, Minister of Physical Culture, Sports and Youth Policy Igor Ivanov, representatives of the city administration, her mother, brother, friends, and young trainees from the city’s sports schools.
- Throughout the entire Olympics, I was sustained by the thought that I was representing not only all of Russia, but also the Irkutsk Region, my hometown of Irkutsk, so during the competitions I gave it my all on the court, - the champion noted.
Valentina Voblikova emphasized that the Government of the Angara Region had purposefully supported Irkutsk Olympians for two years, with a monthly stipend being paid. In addition, more than 10.5 million rubles from the budget of the Irkutsk Region were allocated for the purchase of athletes’ equipment and inventory.
- The silver medal at the 2012 Olympic Games won by our gymnast Darya Dmitrieva is our pride, our shared victory, a reward for the people of Irkutsk for sleepless nights and worries during the Olympic competitions, - Valentina Voblikova noted.
In the near future, Governor of the Irkutsk Region Sergey Eroshchenko will meet with Darya Dmitrieva and Olga Buyanova.
