In Irkutsk police quickly solved a brazen robbery of a pensioner. In a building entrance 96 thousand rubles were stolen from an elderly woman. The suspect, a 22 year old Angarsk resident, was detained minutes later nearby, and the money was returned to the victim. A criminal case has been opened, and she faces up to 7 years in prison.
The day before, a brazen robbery of an elderly woman from Irkutsk took place in the regional center. At noon in the entrance hall of the building where the victim lives, an unknown woman attacked her and stole 96,000 rubles. The pensioner immediately contacted the police.Descriptions of the offender were immediately passed on to patrol units. Within a few minutes, not far from the scene, officers of the patrol and guard service detained a 22-year-old woman from Angarsk who matched the description. During the search, a large sum of money was found on the girl. The victim identified the suspect as her attacker, and law enforcement officers returned all the stolen cash to the pensioner.
On this fact, the investigative department of Police Station No. 5 of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Irkutsk has opened a criminal case under Article 161, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Robbery). The article provides for a penalty of up to 7 years of imprisonment.
We should add that by the age of 22, the resident of Angarsk had already been convicted of robbery and theft.
