At the regional powerlifting championship for boys and girls under 18, 50 athletes from Irkutsk, Tulun, Bratsk, Cheremkhovo and other districts competed. The participants fought not only for medals, but also for a spot on the Priangarye team for the trip to the Russian championship in Kursk. The absolute champions were Ekaterina Vasilyeva from Ust Kut and Semyon Bogdashev, who showed the best totals in the triathlon.

The absolute champion among the girls was Ekaterina Vasilyeva from Ust-Kut. In the total of the three lifts, she scored 295 kilograms. Among the boys, the best was Semyon Bogdashev, with a total of 480 kilos.
