In the Topkinsky neighborhood, sports competitions were held for the tenth time, becoming a notable event for local residents. Participants competed for prizes and received gifts, and the winners got the main trophy, a leather ball. Irkutsk Duma deputy Yuri Korenev spoke about the development of the districts sports life and plans to install new playing courts in the Kuibyshev district.

“I have been professionally involved in volleyball for quite a long time, and I played for Lokomotiv-Angara. And then I was noticed in the courtyard and invited to train. And I still train to this day, which helps me stay in shape,” says competition participant Svetlana Yezhkova.
All participants received gifts, and the winners — the first team from the Topkinsky neighborhood — also received the main prize, a leather ball.
“Such competitions in Topkinsky have been held for 10 years already. This neighborhood can rightly be called a center of sports life. This is due to the fact that in Radishchevo there is no place to hold such events, and in Marata the space is limited. Next year we plan to install several more multifunctional playing courts in the Kuibyshevsky District,” says Irkutsk City Duma deputy Yuri Korenev.
In October, competitions among employees of educational institutions throughout the Right Bank District are also planned.
