In central Irkutsk, police shut down an underground gaming salon hidden in the basement of a large store and open only to insiders. More than 20 gaming machines and an electronic roulette wheel were seized. Since the start of the year, the venue had been checked four times. Despite earlier seizures and a court order to destroy the equipment, the casino resumed operations, and the organizer now faces a fine.

The day before, on August 30, in the center of Irkutsk, officers of the regional Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs shut down an underground gaming salon.
The police received a report that an illegal club was located in the basement of a large retail store, where gambling enthusiasts gathered. The gambling establishment was behind a thick metal door and had no sign. Only a surveillance camera protruded from outside. Only vetted customers could enter inside.
At the moment the police appeared, there were four visitors in the premises, and a dozen switched-on gaming machines became the main evidence of the prohibited business being carried out.
This time, more than 20 slot machines and one electronic roulette wheel were seized. Since the beginning of the year, this salon has been inspected 4 times. In total, about 70 machines were confiscated. By court decision, all of them are subject to destruction. However, the casino’s activities were repeatedly resumed, as new equipment was purchased. The organizer faces a monetary fine.
