For the first time in the Baikal region, Irkutsk will host the Russian Venture Fair, bringing together investors from the US, the UK, Latvia, and representatives of Irkutsk partner cities, Kannan and Xian. Organizers say such events show real interest in innovation and a shift from discussion to action. The program includes coaching sessions for innovative companies, advice on business presentations and working with venture investors, and a round table on accelerators and company presentations to investors.
Among them are investors from the USA, the UK, and Latvia. Representatives of Irkutsk’s sister cities of Gangneung (South Korea) and Xi’an (PRC) will also take part in the Fairs.Among the Russian investors registered for the Fairs are OJSC "ROSNANO", the Non-Profit Organization Foundation for the Development of the Center for the Development and Commercialization of New Technologies (Skolkovo Foundation), the Foundation for the Promotion of Venture Investment in Small Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Sphere of Moscow, OJSC "VERKHCHEENSKNEFTEGAZ", the Foundation for Infrastructure and Educational Programs, ROSNANO, the State Non-Profit Organization "Investment and Venture Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan", the Non-Profit Organization "Foundation for the Promotion of Venture Investment in Small Enterprises in the Scientific and Technical Sphere of the Novosibirsk Region", and others.
As a reminder, the Russian Venture Fair is being held in the Baikal region for the first time. As the organizers — the Russian Venture Capital Association (RAVI) and the administration of the city of Irkutsk — note, holding events of this level indicates the emergence of genuine interest in Irkutsk in the development of innovative entrepreneurship, and a shift from discussions to real action. Holding the Russian Venture Fair on Lake Baikal is a sign of the times — a fundamental choice in favor of modernization and increased investment attractiveness.
As part of the preparations for the Fairs, coaching sessions will be held for innovative companies: consulting support will be provided on the basics of effectively presenting their business, the basic rules of making investment decisions, the necessary skills for working with a venture investor, as well as information for the catalog, oral presentations, and poster presentation materials.
In addition to the thematic series of events that have become traditional at the Fairs for professionals in the private equity and venture investment market and entrepreneurs, the XIII Fair is scheduled to host a round table discussion, "Accelerators – the missing factor in the accelerated formation of deal flow," aimed at partners of business accelerators, as well as presentation sessions by business accelerator companies before an audience of venture investors and representatives of development institutions.
