In Irkutsk in 2012, utility tariffs rose in two stages and averaged 10 percent. First, prices rose 6 percent on July 1, then another 4 percent on September 1, staying within the regional limit of 12 percent. The administration says the increase was due to inflation, higher energy, fuel, and labor costs.
The increase in tariffs, as across the country, is taking place in two stages. The first stage of the increase, by 6%, took place on July 1, 2012; the second took place on September 1. Tariffs increased by 4%. In total, the increase in 2012 amounts to 10% on average.“This is a small increase,” noted Konstantin Bashkov, head of the Housing and Utilities and Engineering Communications Department of the Irkutsk City Administration, “and it has been justified by organizations and enterprises. It is based on inflationary processes, rising prices for energy resources, fuels and lubricants, and higher wage rates.”
We would also like to remind you that the Tariff Service of the Irkutsk Region has set the maximum index of changes in citizens’ payments at 12% compared to 2011. In Irkutsk, this requirement has been met.
