Irkutsk deputies approved funding for the Irkut basketball team from the city budget. 12.8 million rubles will go to preparation, training camps, the entry fee for the Higher League, and matches this year. On October 24, locals can see the first game of the new season at Trud Stadium.
The decision to allocate the necessary funding was made by Irkutsk deputies at a Duma session.As a reminder, in August, at Duma hearings when considering the issue of funding opportunities for various sports from the city budget, the deputies unanimously decided to support the Irkut basketball team.
The city youth policy program will include a line item - the provision from the budget of subsidies to socially oriented non-profit organizations carrying out their activities in the field of physical culture and sports to reimburse costs associated with teams’ participation in the All-Russian basketball competitions among teams of the Higher League.
This year, the amount needed for team formation and outfitting, holding training camps, paying the entry fee to participate in the Higher League of the Russian Championship, and holding home and away games will amount to 12 million 800 thousand rubles. As of today, the Irkut basketball team is already preparing for away competitions. Irkutsk residents will be able to see the team’s first game of the new season on October 24 at Trud Stadium.
