In Irkutsk Region, the charity event Under the Flag of Kindness was held, with Sergei Eroshchenko, Denis Matsuev and stars of Soviet and Russian football taking the field. The funds raised will go to buy high tech equipment for children with cystic fibrosis. In the region, 40 children are waiting for such help, and 3 million rubles have already been raised. Governor of the Irkutsk Region Sergei Eroshchenko, the organizer of the event in Irkutsk, People’s Artist of Russia Denis Matsuev, Soviet and Russian football stars Sergei Gorlukovich, Vagiz Khidiyatullin, Valery Kechinov and others, participants of the international music festival “Stars on Baikal,” and representatives of the regional authorities took to the field. The nationwide campaign “Under the Flag of Goodness!” has been held in Russia since 2005. During this period, children in Nizhny Novgorod, Taganrog, Samara, Kazan, Sochi, St. Petersburg, Krasnoyarsk, Perm, Belgorod, Yaroslavl, Novorossiysk, Elista, and Moscow have received qualified medical care and expensive medicines.
The funds raised during the campaign will be used to purchase high-tech medical equipment—devices that support the lives of children suffering from cystic fibrosis. In total, 40 children in the Irkutsk Region need such therapy. The organizers of the campaign have already raised 3 million rubles.
As People’s Artist of Russia and pianist Denis Matsuev noted, such events should become part of the “Stars on Baikal” festival, which is held every year.

- First and foremost, this event is aimed at drawing attention to the problem, and it is very important that real help will be provided to children who need it, Sergei Eroshchenko emphasized.
Before the match, children with disabilities presented drawings and souvenirs to the participants of the meeting. The game between the Irkutsk Region team and the stars of sport and culture ended in a 4:4 draw.
The fundraising campaign “Under the Flag of Goodness” in the Irkutsk Region will continue until November 1.
