In Irkutsk, the traditional Photocross game using information and communication technologies was held, with 144 schoolchildren from 48 educational institutions taking part. For the first time, a remote photography master class by professional photographers was held before the start, and the participants completed creative tasks on the theme A good proverb will not break with age. The jury will sum up the contest results, and the results will be published on city educational websites.

On September 15, the traditional information and communication technology-based game for students of municipal educational institutions in the city of Irkutsk, “Photocross,” took place.
This year, 144 schoolchildren from 48 educational institutions took part in the game.
The aim of the game is the introduction and effective use of new information technologies in the educational process of general education institutions, the development of creative abilities and imaginative thinking, and the formation of skills in using digital equipment.
For the first time, before the start of “Photocross,” a photography master class was held remotely, conducted for schoolchildren by professional photographers. They told hundreds of beginners about the intricacies of the profession, including the use of modern technologies.
Participants in the in-person stage of the photocross completed timed tasks (crosses) under the overall theme “A good proverb never breaks.”
For the third year, a remote stage was held in this traditional game for city schoolchildren, with the themes of its crosses identical to those of the in-person stage. By October 1, 2012, Photocross participants are completing their team page on the Irkutsk Wiki website, posting photos from the in-person and remote stages.
After all stages of the competition have been held, the participants’ works will be evaluated by a jury. Invited to the jury are professional photographers Denis Pavlov (Pioneer School Photography Workshop) and Artem Andronov (Altair School of Photography).
After the results are summed up, the competition results will be posted on the websites wiki.irkutsk.ru, CIMPO, and the Department of Education of the Irkutsk city administration.
