The city has 12 fountains, and the new season usually starts in late April, early May, depending on the weather.
The city fountains finished their operation on October 1. As of today, the water has been drained from all the basins, and the reservoirs are being washed. Tomorrow, the equipment will begin to be dismantled.As the director of Vodokanal, Sergei Vinarsky, said, it is only after the dismantling is carried out that it will become clear whether the equipment needs repairs and what kind. Every year, certain restoration work has to be carried out. It is performed in the period from autumn to spring, when the fountains are not in operation.
There are 12 fountains in Irkutsk. In 2012, 8,717,300 rubles were allocated under the municipal contract for their maintenance. The start of the next fountain season falls at the end of April-beginning of May, depending on weather conditions.
