The 4th City Medical Forum Health of the Citizens is Care of the City opened in Irkutsk, held alongside the Sibzdravookhranenie 2012 exhibition. The venue features municipal and private medical institutions, and the program includes conferences, round tables, and seminars on modern approaches to quality and affordable medical care. Visitors can also get examined at two Health Centers, and on October 5 the results of the contest for the citys best municipal healthcare institution will be announced.

On October 2, the IV City Medical Forum “Citizens’ Health – the City’s Concern” opened at the Sibexpocentre exhibition complex. The forum is being held simultaneously with the annual “Sibzdravookhranenie-2012” exhibition.
The organizer of the medical forum is the Department of Health and Social Assistance to the Population of the Committee on Social Policy and Culture of the Irkutsk City Administration.
In Pavilion No. 2, 23 municipal healthcare institutions set up their exhibits: polyclinics and hospitals, a children’s dairy kitchen, 3 municipal pharmaceutical enterprises, 6 non-governmental medical organizations, etc.
“The City Medical Forum is a traditional event that is awaited not only by healthcare professionals, but also by the residents of Irkutsk,” noted Natalia Taraban, head of the Department of Health and Social Assistance to the Population of the Irkutsk City Administration. “This year, the forum will serve as a platform for demonstrating modern approaches to organizing the provision of accessible and high-quality medical care to the population, the diagnostic and treatment capabilities of medical institutions and organizations, and practical experience in applying the latest technologies. At the exhibition, one can get acquainted with everything new and advanced that has been introduced and organized during the period of modernization and reforms in municipal healthcare.”
The forum includes exhibition and business programs. The business program provides for conferences, round tables, and seminars for a professional audience, as well as events for the general public on disease prevention and increasing motivation to maintain one’s own health.
Two Health Centers are operating at the forum, where exhibition visitors undergo examinations and receive recommendations from specialists.
On October 5, at the closing ceremony of the event, the results of the city professional competition “Best Municipal Healthcare Institution of Irkutsk” will be announced and its winners will be awarded.
