The Baikal search team returned with another victory from the All-Russian Rally of Museums and Military-Patriotic Associations. The session was held from September 20 to October 7, 2012, at the Federal Children's Center “Smena” (Krasnodar Krai, Anapa). It was attended by 152 people from 14 regions of Russia. This was reported by the commander of the Baikal search team, Valentina Zyablova. The trip of the Irkutsk residents took place with financial support from the administration of the city of Irkutsk.
The guys from the search teams, museum, and military-patriotic associations competed with one another in sports relays, creative, and educational contests.
Among the first contests of the session were a photo wall newspaper and the team business card. These contests helped the participants get acquainted and learn more about one another. Already at the first stage of the competition, the Baikal search team confidently took the leading position.
During the military-style relay “Patriots of Russia,” the guys demonstrated the best skills in shooting with an air rifle, putting on a combined-arms protective suit, and medical training.
The rally brought many new, interesting, and instructive things into the lives of the participants, useful for further work in their associations. Special educational programs were developed for the participants – “History of the Russian Vocational School,” “Search Team School,” and “Fundamentals of Museum Work.” All young searchers who attended these workshops and passed the tests received certificates.
In addition to the mandatory competition program, the activity of the delegation at the rally was also taken into account. The guys from the Baikal team held the “Mercy” campaigns: they helped children with disabilities who were undergoing sanatorium treatment at the FDC “Smena.” They organized and conducted military-patriotic events: the round table “Heroes Are Not Born,” a meeting with veterans from the village of Blagoveshchenskaya, and a joint visit to the memorial at the burial site of the soldiers of the 166th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 55th Irkutsk Division who died during the liberation of the village. This large-scale work was organized in close cooperation with the Council of War Veterans of Anapa.
Taking into account their performance skills and excellent military-sports training, the Baikal team was given the honorary right to open, with demonstration hand-to-hand combat performances, the World Universal Fighting Championship and the FSB of Russia Spartakiad, which were held at the FDC “Smena.”
