The settlement of Lugovoye may be annexed to Irkutsk

The government of the Angara region will study the possibility of annexing the settlement Lugovoe to Irkutsk. Residents raised the issue, as it is inconvenient to get to the city and use transport. Governor Sergey Eroshchenko also ordered a stop to be located near the settlement to reduce the risk of accidents and traffic jams on the federal highway. Currently only two routes run between Lugovoe and Irkutsk, but the authorities are already considering increasing them.

The Government of the Angara Region will study the issue of the possibility of annexing the settlement of “Lugovoye” to the territory of Irkutsk. Governor of the Irkutsk Region Sergey Eroshchenko held a citizens’ reception on personal matters today. In particular, pensioner Irina Khamaganova appealed to the head of the Angara Region on behalf of the residents of the settlement of “Lugovoye.” The new settlement, which belongs to the Irkutsk District, is located on the border with the regional center; most residents of “Lugovoye” work, study, and use the services of social institutions in Irkutsk. However, there are currently difficulties with public transport connections between the city and the settlement.
The head of the Irkutsk District, Igor Naumov, said that only two routes currently connect “Lugovoye” with the center of Irkutsk, while the intervals between minibuses remain too long, since these services are classified as intermunicipal. Nevertheless, passenger flow is now being studied to possibly increase the number of routes and vehicles operating on the line. Another problem is related to arranging a bus stop near “Lugovoye” in the direction from the city.
Sergey Eroshchenko instructed the Minister of Construction and Road Management of the region, Mikhail Litvin, together with Igor Naumov, to go to the site and determine a location for organizing the bus stop so as to minimize as much as possible the conditions for accidents and traffic jams on this section of the federal highway. In addition, the Governor instructed the regional Government to study in detail the issue of the possibility of administratively annexing the settlement of “Lugovoye” to the territory of Irkutsk.
