In 2025 alone specialists surveyed more than 400 monuments; the work began in 2022.
A large-scale review of monuments that began in 2022 is nearing completion in the Irkutsk Region: 1,966 cultural heritage sites have been inventoried, more than 400 of them in 2025. According to the regional government, 1,113 sites are included in the Unified State Register of Cultural Heritage Sites and 723 have been removed from state protection.
The inventory is needed to understand what condition the buildings are in and which of them can be restored. The President has instructed that at least a thousand cultural heritage sites across the country be put in order by 2030.
