The Rogal Exhibition Centre has already been repaired; the main building, a monument of regional significance, is due to be finished by 31 October.

Irkutsk mayor Ruslan Bolotov inspected the repairs at two sites of the A. M. Sibiryakov Museum of the History of the City. At the V. S. Rogal Exhibition Centre work was finished on 1 September: the façade was renewed and an enclosed, heated porch was built. The façade colour was chosen together with the building’s architect, Andrei Krasilnikov.

The museum’s main building at 16 Frank-Kamenetskogo Street is a cultural heritage site of regional significance. At the end of the 19th century it housed A. M. Kladishcheva’s primary school and free higher school, and later a school for Mongolian children. The plaster is being restored, the walls and ceilings painted, and the parquet in two halls and the porch repaired, while the architectural appearance is preserved; the work is due to be completed by 31 October. The museum’s collections hold more than 108,000 objects, over 80% of them donated by Irkutsk residents. After reopening, an exhibition about the 19th century will appear on the first floor.
