A parade of ships, a viewing platform at the Vampilov stone, the “V Listvyanke Yest” festival and a record-breaking ukha.
The village of Listvyanka on the shore of Baikal has celebrated its 300th anniversary.
The celebration
On 18 July 2026 a parade of ships took place on Baikal, and a fair and festive venues were open. For the anniversary a viewing platform above the cliff was opened at the memorial stone to the playwright Alexander Vampilov at the entrance to the village; it was built with sponsors’ money.
A summer of events
From 1 August to 3 September the festival “V Listvyanke Yest” took place; bronze figures of the Rybov family appeared along the tourist routes. The finale was the tenth omul festival: at the beginning of October 586 litres of ukha fish soup were cooked — a Russian record.
Looking ahead
A contract has been signed to rebuild the Rogatka pier. Back in 2025 an interactive museum about Baikal opened by the Ferris wheel, and the development of the village up to 2030 is to follow a single eco-friendly style.
