The garden has been included in the unified state register of botanical gardens, arboretums and natural monuments.
The Botanical Garden of Irkutsk State University has received the status of a site of federal significance and has been included in the unified state register of botanical gardens, arboretums and natural monuments. According to the Glagol agency, this was done by an order of the Russian government of 30 December 2025. The register includes 50 botanical gardens and arboretums under federal bodies. The inclusion underlines the garden’s scientific and conservation value.
