Irkutsk bought new BeCeMa machines for emergency road pothole repairs. Each can patch up to 100 square meters in 8 hours and will work around the clock. 33 million rubles are budgeted for this. Soon, slabs on the old Angarsk bridge will be replaced.
Fast and high-quality — it happens. If machinery gets to work. Irkutsk has purchased new machines for emergency road repairs. In 8 hours of work, this machine can patch potholes on one hundred square meters of roadway. “BeCeMa” eliminates small potholes and cracks. The city administration has so far purchased 3 such machines for emergency road repairs.
With the onset of warm days, the “BeCeMa” machines have gone out onto the city’s main roads. Their productivity is high, labor costs and material costs are low, which is especially relevant in times of crisis.
Similar domestically produced equipment is already used in many cities across Russia. So far, there have been no complaints about it. Moreover, the machines can work practically without breaks. For example, in Irkutsk the “BeCeMas” will repair streets around the clock. According to officials, such patches made of a mixture of crushed stone and bitumen will last a decent amount of time.
33 million rubles have been allocated from Irkutsk’s budget this year for emergency pothole repairs on roads. The machines will be on the streets until late autumn.
In the future, the 3 such machines purchased by the city administration are supposed to cover all the streets of the city. First of all, work will be carried out on busy main roads and streets along which public transport routes run. The only downside is inconvenience for motorists. But road workers promised that pothole repairs on busy roads would be carried out exclusively at night.
The old Angarsk Bridge will be repaired again — replacement of the slabs will begin here in the coming days. The necessary materials have already been unloaded at the reconstruction site. Specialists from the bridge maintenance service say that the material from which the slabs are made wears out quickly, especially with very heavy traffic. And road workers are unable to overcome such short-lived durability. That is a task for scientists. For their part, maintenance services can only replace the old slabs, which is done regularly. This year, the slabs on the bridge will be laid with higher quality than before. They are made using new technologies and should last about two years.
Anatoly Tkach, director of the Irkutsk Bridge Maintenance Service: «Now the slab replacement will be carried out under the line of planned preventive repair, it is planned to replace 200 small slabs and 400 large ones, which means this will be done strictly at night. And, let us say, it will not cause any particular inconvenience for residents».
