During the audit it was found that the university received 16 million rubles from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science to reward faculty, however the rector, according to law enforcement, ordered a bonus of over 3.5 million rubles for himself. The investigation is also checking information that then this money was returned to the university cash desk using funds collected from vice rectors.

During the inspection conducted, it was established that in 2010 the university received 16 million rubles from the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. These funds were intended for bonuses for the faculty and teaching staff.
As law enforcement agencies believe, the university rector issued and signed an order under which he set the amount of his own bonus at more than 3.5 million rubles. However, under current legislation, such material incentive for the head of an educational institution falls within the competence of the Ministry of Education and Science and is beyond his official authority. In addition, information is currently being checked that the amount later returned to the university cash desk was collected from the university vice-rectors.
