20 million 301 thousand rubles have been allocated to tourism development in the Irkutsk region, mainly for major events and exhibitions, including Zimniada 2009, BaikalTour, and participation in Moscow tourism forums. Also, this year a marketing study of the regions sanatoriums and resorts is planned to identify problems and determine industry development prospects.
This was stated by the deputy head of the tourism department of the Ministry of Economic Development, Labor, Science and Higher Education of the Irkutsk Region, Agniya Shangina. 20 million 301 thousand rubles have been allocated for the development of tourism in the region.At the same time, these funds are directed only to the largest events, such as the International Baikal Festival of Winter Games "Zimniada-2009," the international tourism exhibition "Baikaltur," participation of Irkutsk delegations in the Moscow tourism exhibitions "Intourmarket" and "MITT," as well as presentation events in Germany, Japan, and China.
Agniya Shangina said that this year it is planned to conduct a marketing study of the activities of sanatoriums and resorts in the Irkutsk Region in order to identify existing problems, which will make it possible to outline the prospects for the development of the industry.
