In Priangarye, a new regional airline, East West Airlines, and a unified shipping company with state capital participation will appear to solve air service and Lena river fleet problems. Preliminary agreements for five Yak 42 have already been signed, and the new airline will focus on flights to northern areas. In addition, runway repairs will continue, and transport infrastructure funding will be 80 percent from the center and 20 percent from the region, with the region share possibly reduced.

In the Angara region, a new airline and shipping company will appear, and runway repairs will continue. This became known at a meeting held today in the government after the airport opened
To solve the problems of the river fleet on the Lena, Transport Minister Igor Levitin proposed creating a single shipping company with state capital participation. It may include the Osetrovsky River Port, the Kirensk and Alekseevsk fleet repair and maintenance bases. And the new regional airline will be called "East-West Airlines." Its main goal is flights to the northern areas. According to Governor Igor Yesipovsky, preliminary agreements have already been signed for the delivery of five Yak-42 aircraft.
- The contracts have been signed, advances have been paid, and the aircraft are undergoing pre-delivery preparation. The airline is now building its staff and working on creating infrastructure, - said Governor Igor Yesipovsky.
Overall, the Transport Minister was pleased with his visit to Irkutsk. The problems will be resolved, he assured. An agreement with the regional authorities on co-financing transport infrastructure facilities has been reached: 80% from the center, 20% from local sources. However, Igor Levitin reassured that the Government of Russia is ready to revise the regions' share downward, down to 5%. After all, there is a crisis.
