The heritage protection service has accepted the work on the Church of the Saviour Not Made by Hands, one of the oldest buildings in Irkutsk, standing on the site where the fort was founded. The church was built in 1706–1710 and the bell tower was added in 1758; it is a monument of federal significance.

The old layer of plaster was removed completely, the walls were primed twice and filled, and the historic finish was restored. The porch and a tier of the bell tower were repaired. At the end of 2024, 7 million roubles were allocated from the regional budget for the work. Under the regional programme 16 churches have been restored in five years, with the region covering 75% of the cost and the diocese 25%.
