The Pepel restaurant is in the house where the geologist and explorer Sergei Peretolchin lived.
On 5 February 2026 the Pepel restaurant opened in the historic house at 6 Sukhe-Batora Street. Its concept is to revive the authentic cuisine of the Baikal region of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The geologist and explorer Sergei Peretolchin once lived in the house, and his life became the basis of the concept.
According to its creators, the menu combines the austerity of the nomads, the hearty food of Russian settlers, the hospitality of the Siberian merchants and French gastronomy. The brand chef is Dmitry Arinin.
