Baikal Museum staff took the endemic fish to Kaliningrad; after quarantine they will be shown in an aquarium devoted to Baikal.

Staff of the Baikal Museum have delivered stone sculpins — endemic bottom-dwelling fish of Baikal — to the Museum of the World Ocean in Kaliningrad. The museum called the journey from Siberia to Kaliningrad a serious test.

The fish are in quarantine, and aquarists at the Museum of the World Ocean are monitoring their adaptation. Later the sculpins will be moved to a display aquarium devoted to Baikal. From a trial menu of gammarids, bloodworms, daphnia, mussels, shrimp, squid and other foods, on the second day the fish chose pink salmon.
