The aggressive animal was spotted at kilometre 113; inspectors had to go out on the route armed.

On 10 October 2025 Pribaikalsky National Park closed the tourist route along the Circum-Baikal Railway. A problem bear was spotted at kilometre 113 by specialists of the Baikal forestry district during an animal count: it behaved aggressively and unpredictably, and the work had to be stopped. State inspectors are forced to patrol the railway armed.

Tourists who had already received permits were warned of the closure. The route remains closed until walking it becomes safe again; no reopening date was given.
