The closed routes include the Circum-Baikal Railway and the Great Baikal Trail. Check the status of the area before you set off.
On 11 September 2026 the operational headquarters of Pribaikalsky National Park closed six routes because of bear activity: the Circum-Baikal Railway, the Great Baikal Trail, the Kamni Potainye crags, “Tyomnaya Pad stop — Angasolskaya village”, “Pereezd stop — Circum-Baikal Railway” and “Peschanaya Bay — Baklany Kamen — Buguldeika”. Inspectors are recording bears and signs of their presence; the animals are particularly active on the Great Baikal Trail and the Circum-Baikal Railway.
Before a hike, check the status of the area on the Zapovednoye Pribaikalye website and do not go onto closed routes.
