Pribaikalsky National Park plans to keep the “North Olkhon” route open even at fire danger classes IV and V, when access used to be restricted. Travel is possible only when the route status is “open”.

Conditions for tourists: every car must carry a metal shovel, a rake and at least 20 litres of water, and a safety briefing must be completed before the trip. At high fire danger classes stopping in forested areas is prohibited except in emergencies. Inspectors check tourists at the Burugher checkpoint and along the entire route, and alternative roads to Cape Khoboy will be closed off with barrier blocks.
